Hamilcar Barca IP LLC (HBIP) announced today that it has entered into an agreement with United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) concerning HBIP’s semiconductor manufacturing,
process, and packaging patents. All terms of the agreement are confidential.
UMC is a leading Semiconductor Foundry. It was founded as Taiwan's first semiconductor company in 1980.
In 2021, Hamilcar Barca IP LLC, a Longhorn IP affiliate, acquired a portfolio of patents related to semiconductor design, semiconductor fabrication technologies as well as power saving and processor design techniques. The state-of-the-art technologies were developed and patented by Mediatek. Mediatek is a semiconductor company that provides chips for wireless communications, high-definition television, handheld mobile devices like smartphones and tablet computers, navigation systems, consumer multimedia products and digital subscriber line services as well as optical disc drives.
